Want to ensure your squat transfers to your lifts? We speak a lot about leg drive and its ability to both transfer power to the bar and direct the energy of the movement. Lester Ho (@lesterhokw) is here today to give some pointers to keep the legs locked and loaded during your squats.
Have a look at your knees especially when you hit the bottom of the squat. As you drop past your sticking point, where your femur is at its longest from the pivot (the knees), ensure that your pivot remains stable.

All sports have a basic athletic stance where the body is aligned to maximize strength, power and speed. Also commonly referenced as the power position, this alignment typically places the body in a “ready state” to transition or move. Lester (@lesterhokw) is here today to discuss the principals of how this stacking occurs for weightlifting and how hitting this position well can make or break your next attempt.

The hips are a powerful generator when it comes to force production, but that by itself will not be enough to deliver the power in the right direction. For the productive application of force, learning how to pair the knees with the hips will get the bar moving up so you can get yourself moving down.

Producing Vertical Force.
It is definitely not wrong to say that the hips are producing force in the second pull. However, this extension of the hips is often mistaken as the sole proponent of increasing velocity of the bar.
Look who’s making it back to the states?! My good friend...

A couple weeks ago, we broke down the movements of a couple world class lifters. Today, Lester Ho (@lesterhokw) is here to discuss how to analyze body positions and movement in relation to the data provided by these charts.
Understanding Iron Path.
Apps like Iron Path are wonderful tools for a coach to do simple biomechanical anaylses for the lifts.
However, there needs to be a proper understanding of what the app provides in terms of information.
